Scanning Organic Material
This project has been ongoing for several years with over 50 subjects scanned. I discovered that a portable document scanner has a unique and odd way of processing organic material. This project was a discovery in alternative imaging but also in the social approach to portrait photography. To capture an image the subject needs skin to skin contact with little synthetic material between. This process can be uncomfortable, revealing and even violating which resulted in an intimate bond between myself, the device and the model. I have shown this work in several gallery shows in Los Angeles in life size printed format.
